Description
Chicken Necking is a way of catching crabs off a pier using rope and chicken necks. In this bucket, we will provide everything you need to catch crabs, except the chicken necks. Those can be found at a number of local establishments.
- Included in the pack: 5 gallon bucket for holding crabs until they are iced down, long crab net, 60 ft of string, ring trap, crab seasoning and a steamer pot.
- “Instructions:
- 1. At the end of a piece of string, tightly tie one chicken neck. Tie the other end of the string to the pier, allowing for a little slack in the string when it is in the water.
2. Drop your line into the water and allow it to sink to the bottom. Now, sit back, relax and keep an eye on that slack, which will start to unwind and pull away as a crab grabs your bait and tries to walk off with it.3. Once you see it going out, lightly grab hold of the line. Don’t yank too hard or fast, or you might spook your crab into letting go. When you can reach it, use your fishing net to scoop up the crab and bring it in. It is espeically important to take your time until the grab is off the floor of the bay.”
